The torque is transferred from the gears to the bearings. In some guns, the bearings are made of cylon and cannot withstand the increased load caused by, for example, a thicker spring. If the bearing breaks during firing, the wheel will move from its intended position and the gear will break in seconds. Therefore, some manufacturers already install metal bearings as standard equipment. Replacing the bearings is the first step in increasing the durability of the weapon.
The bearings offered are made of bronze and have perfect sliding properties and strength. The contact surface between the bearing and the wheel is smaller. This results in less friction, but at the same time there is no need for heavy padding. The inner diameter of the bearings is adapted to all gears, and the outer diameter to most known gearboxes .
